A BIT ABOUT ME
Your Body, the Way You Want It
Getting in shape shouldn’t be a punishment. It’s an amazing and empowering lifestyle decision that anyone can make. At J.Howard Wellness we believe in finding the pleasurable side of fitness; and while there may be a sore muscle or two along the way, the benefits of fitness is worth the discomfort. I have developed my training regime by working with a variety of people, and always love adapting my program to new clients.
I am 35 years young born and raised in beautiful sunny southern California. I have a sports background in track & field, basketball, and football. I have been blessed with the ability to be exceptional in each of the three disciplines previously mentioned. Growing up I always admired my coaches and the leadership roles they fulfilled. I understood later in life that being a positive force for others to be galvanized by is something that I had both a passion and gumption for, so I made the decision to start a business that would capture this attribute and named it after my first name J.Howard, and what I bring to the community in that which is wellness, henceforth J.Howard Wellness. My primary goal is to be a benefit to others, to enjoy life and assist others in doing the same in return, a magnificent and incessant process of edification in my purveying of factual based and scientifically proven knowledge and methods to lead a healthy life. I am a proud graduate of The Southern California Health Institute completing my education with a 4.0 GPA receiving the highest honor graduating summa cum laude. I obtained certifications from the world's most revered and acclaimed academy of sports medicine at the National Academy Of Sports Medicine (NASM) as I am a certified personal fitness trainer (CPT), fitness nutrition specialist (FNS), corrective exercise specialist (CES), also obtaining a CPR certification with education in kinesiology, exercise psychology, sports specific training, sales and program design.

Sixty percent of muscle is located below the waist, and muscle has the highest caloric expenditure. In other words muscle burns the highest amount of energy. With that being said, if your goal is to lose weight more emphasis should be applied to lower body exercises in conjunction with optimal upper body routines to ensure lower body physical adaptations occur thus proliferating and accelerating the weight loss process, utilizing the safest and arguably the most affective and effective method.

HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT FROM A REGULAR TRAINER AT A GYM?
There is a growing number of personal fitness trainers in the trendy, and rapidly expanding industry of health and wellness, and for many exploring the terrain in search of a relatable and efficient frequency in the midst of clamorous distortion can sure enough measure up to be a challenging task. To provide assugement to the community in aid of this common dilemma I find it to be pleasantly reassuring that my level of education, skills, abilities, and experience as it pertains to health and wellness unequivocally seperates myself from the other trainers that you will find in your local gym. My personable demeanor, and prudent consideration for each and every one of my clients is beyond the list of my obligations, in fact and in all actuality it is the fabric of my profile as a purveyor of health and wellness. WHAT TYPES OF HOME FITNESS EQUIPMENT DO YOU RECOMMEND?
Recommendations for home fitness equipment isn't something that I impart in particular. Instead I like to give my clients the opportunity to explore the options available, and possibly broaden their perspective with methods that many find to be economical, sufficient, and time effective. People put alot of emphasis on weight training and for good reason in it's provision of various health benefits. But in all truthfulness and fairness there is an argument to be made that body weight training can be just as beneficial as it automatically applies personalized body weight, generating and applying optimal amounts of tension, and stress levels to the human movement system which in turn will produce one's desired results when performed properly, and with professional guidance.
DO YOU CHARGE EXTRA FOR NUTRITIONAL GUIDANCE AND A DIET PLAN?
I charge an additional fee of fifty dollars per week for nutritional guidance, and diet plans. There are two wonderful and veracious sayings that I live by in which I tell my clients all the time, and that is, "you can't out work a bad diet", and, "function follows form." To put it best exercise is half the battle. How we fuel ourselves is paramount and foremost, for the very food we consume will determine whether or not our workouts will go in vain, or be the driving force on our journey to sustaining a salubrious lifestyle. My knowledge, skills, and abilities as a certified fitness nutrition specialist (FNS) allows me to impart in depth food recommendations as well as nutritional guidance for a wide variety of diet plans that land in direct accordance with each of the client’s distinctive health and fitness goals.
